This seven session class, led by Kari Wellhausen, a local Montessori teacher, is based on the Love & Logic philosophy of raising and teaching children. Love allows children to grow through their mistakes. Logic allows children to live with the consequences of their choices.
Parents will learn simple and practical "how-to's" that will give them: happy, fun families; toddlers who go to bed the 1st time; tots that learn whining and arguing do not work; meals without battles; discipline without losing their love; great comebacks all parents need to know; youngsters that grow to safe, smart, confident teens and more!
The best time to start using Love & Logic is before your infant can walk. Even if children don't understand spoken language, they do grasp the general ideas of what we say to them. However, no matter what the age of the child, the best time to start Love & Logic is now. Parenting w/ Love and Logic is a nationally recognized program developed by Foster Cline, MD and Jim Fay. With their combined experience of over 50 years in education and child and adult psychiatry, these gentlemen have developed one of America's top parenting programs.
2008 Love & Logic Classes made possible from grants from Target, Inc. & General Mills.

Studies have shown that babies who sign speak sooner and have larger vocabularies than non-signing babies. By embedding the learning of signs in activities that promote your child's cognitive, social, language, literacy, and sensory motor development, you will begin to learn how to communicate with your child in a way that is less emotionally frustrating. This class will use books, songs and play to introduce and re-enforce signs with your child 6 months to 3 years in a fun and happy environment.
