ONGOING OPPORTUNITIES . . . . .
One-On-One Tutoring: This opportunity requires a commitment of 8 weeks, once a week for 45 minutes. Tutors tutor one-on-one with children ages 7-12, Monday-Thursday, in math, reading or both. Tutors may choose which subject they prefer to tutor in. Hours and days for tutoring are flexible depending on tutor's and/or student's schedules. Hours in which the tutoring program is open are 3:45 - 7:45 p.m.
Play Group Monitor: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday -9:15 am -12:15 pm. Prepare snack & juice for parent/child playgroups, interact with parents and children, occasionally lead in a craft activity, remove snack & juice at program end, help straighten the room and wipe down tables.
Senior “Selebration” Assistant: One Wednesday a month, 11:30 am -2:30 pm assist in serving and clean-up at Senior Luncheons.
Senior Bingo: One Wednesday a month, 12:30-2:30 pm calling numbers, etc. Must be a personable person who can engage seniors.
Emergency Food Pantry: Hours & Times arranged with the Food Pantry Coordinator. Assist with stocking shelves, sorting food donations, etc.
Donation Pick-Ups: Hours & Times arranged with President/CEO. Drivers are needed on a part-time basis to pick-up donations of food, items, etc.
CALENDAR OF OPPORTUNITIES . . . .
Brunch w/ the Bunny-Saturday, March 24th, 10:00 am-2:00pm. Volunteers will assist with decorations, food preparation, serving, craft room assignments, clean-up, one person will be selected to dress-up as the bunny.

11th Annual Beer Tasting and Auction Fundraiser, Thursday, April 26th-Must be 21 years old by April 26th. Volunteers will be asked to attend a volunteer orientation prior to the event.
Auction Helpers: 5:30-10:00 pm, Please wear white shirt and black pants. Volunteers will help set up the display of auction items for the live and silent auction. Auction Helpers will do one or more of the following: Hold up auction item and walk around room to display to people during auction, Act as spotter, pointing out to auctioneer paddles that are being help up, Record the winning bid number and dollar amount of the item and forward to check out people. Take auction item to winning bidder at the end of bidding for the item. Contact Linda if interested in this opportunity.
Servers: Please wear white shirt and dark pants. There are two groups. The first group will start at 4:30 pm and end approximately at 9:30 pm. This group will set tables with programs, pencils, publicity materials for beer and generally help set up for the program. The other half of the group will be asked to clear tables, pack up Center materials and general clean up activities along with serving. This group will start at 5:30 pm and end at 10:30 pm. Both groups will be responsible for opening bottles and cans of beer, pouring 2 - 3 oz in cups, serving your designated program participants and clearing away empty cups. Rummage Sale Items Delivery: Thursday, July , 8:30 am-5:30 pm. Shift 1-8:30-11:30 am, Shift 2-11:30 am-2:30 pm, Shift 3-2:30-5:30 pm. Accept donations, write donation slips, place with like items, etc.
Rummage Sale Set-Up & Pricing: Friday, July , Shift 1-9:00 am-12:00 pm, Shift 2-12:00-3:00 pm. Organize items, price items, set-up items for display on tables, etc.
Rummage Sale Workers: Saturday, July , Shift 1-7:30-10:30 am, Shift 2-10:30 am-1:30 pm. Cashiers, baggers, table straighteners, assist with bake sale or café if offered, etc.

Bay View Homes Tour: Hosts & Hostesses needed for homes. Must be 16+ years. There are two shifts. Shift 1-10:00 am-1:00 pm or Shift 2-1:00 pm-4:00 pm. Must be able to attend one of the volunteer orientation meetings prior to the event. Contact Linda for this opportunity.
Holiday Toy & Gift Distribution Registration: Call in September for dates and times. Volunteers ages 18+ register families who are in need of holiday assistance for the Holiday Gift program for their children.

Scholastic Book Fair: Wednesday-Saturday, Oct.24-27, 2007 (Wed-Friday, 9:00-4:30, Saturday, 9:00-2:00)- Volunteers ages 14+ work in 2-3 hour shifts selling merchandise, assisting with art stations & workshops, restocking shelves, someone will dress-up as a character from a book, etc. Contact Kimberly for scheduling details.

Halloween Spooktacular: Saturday, October 27, 2007-10:30 am-1:30 pm. Volunteers ages 12+ will assist families w/children 2-6 in participation of games, art & craft activities, manning trick-or-treat doors, putting up decorations, serving brunch, assisting with clean-up
Thanksgiving Baskets: Tuesday, November 20th, 9:30 am-12:00 pm. Help put together Thanksgiving baskets for low-income seniors. These baskets will then be delivered to shut ins or seniors with limited transportation options.
Deliver Thanksgiving Baskets to Seniors: Tuesday, November 20th, 12:30 pm-until they're delivered. Get satisfaction in helping a senior have a nice Thanksgiving!

Dinner W/ Santa: Wednesday, December 5, 2007, 5:00-8:00 pm. Help serve dinner & dessert, assist with games and/or craft project, we need someone to dress as Santa, and one Santa's helper.
Bake Holiday Cookies for Seniors: Monday, December 17th, 8:30 am-6:00 pm. Bake 1-2 dozen holiday cookies for seniors and deliver to the Center, December 18th.
Package Cookies for Seniors: Tuesday, December 18th, 9 am - 11:30 pm. Help package homemade cookies into boxes for delivery to seniors.
Deliver Holiday Cookies to Seniors: Tuesday (afternoon), December 18th & Wednesday, December 19th. Deliver boxes of holiday cookies to seniors in senior housing. Contact Linda for times.
Pick Up Toys and Gifts : Monday-Wednesday, December 17-19, 9:00 am-4:00 pm. Drivers needed to pick-up gifts from companies, etc. for Holiday Toy & Gift Distribution and food from food drives for the Emergency Food Pantry. Volunteers work in shifts. Please contact Linda for more information.
Toy Intake Helpers: Monday-Wednesday, December 17-19, 9:00am-5:00 pm Detail-oriented Volunteers ages 18+ to assist in organizing the donations, placing gifts in correct order, checking all gifts to ensure appropriateness of gift, etc.
Wrap Christmas Gifts for Seniors: Friday, December 21st , 9:00 am-12:00 pm Wrap gifts for seniors who are low income or have no family to share in the holidays.
Deliver Christmas Gifts to Seniors: Friday, December 21st, 12:30-3:00 pm Deliver Christmas gifts to seniors.
