It’s considered by many critics to be the GREATEST American Musical ever written with music by Jule Styne, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, story by Arthur Laurents (West Side Story and The Way We Were) and giving a Tony Award to 4 top Broadway Actresses who played Mother Rose – Ethel Merman, Angela Landsbury, Bernadette Peters and Patti Lupone. Now YOU can experience the music, the laughter and the tears of GYPSY. The day begins with FREE PARKING and 7:30am BREAKFAST BUFFET at the Center. At 8am our COACH BUS leaves for O&H BAKERY and DUTCH UNCLE MARKET in Racine. At 8:45am we arrive with a MEET’N GREET featuring the history of this Swedish family business and the delicious KRINGLE. There’s time for SHOPPING, FREE COFFEE and SAMPLES before we leave at 9:45am. They have lots of frozen dinners and Swedish dishes as well as a full deli, bakery and gift shop. There are BOXES and COOLERS under the BUS for your purchases. At 11:15am we arrive at DRURY LANE in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois.  For DINNER you have the choice of 3 entrees (please give your selection at time of Registration):  1) ROAST SIRLOIN OF BEEF served in its own juices, WINTER GARDEN FRESH VEGETABLES and CHEF CHOICE POTATO; 2) Traditional ROAST TURKEY BREAST with fresh HERB STUFFING, CRANBERRIES and TURKEY GRAVY and 3) (Vegetarian Entrée) FETTUCINI ALFREDO with SWEET PEAS. All 3 entrees include SOUP OF THE DAY, fresh baked BREAD & BUTTER, CHEF’S CHOICE DESSERT (could be homemade pie, cobbler or cake) and COFFEE, TEA or MILK. After Dinner it’s Show Time. Based on the memoirs of Gypsy Rose Lee, the famous burlesque stripper, GYPSY tells the story of Rose, an overbearing stage mother who is determined to break into the Big Time by pushing the Vaudeville career of her younger daughter June.  However, unwilling to tolerate her mother’s manipulations, June elopes with a dancer. Rose then turns all her attention on her older and less talented daughter Louise. Eventually all of Rose’s dreams come true when she successfully transforms Louise into the famous burlesque stripper know as Gypsy Rose Lee. Outstanding songs include “Let Me Entertain You,” “Together Wherever We Go,” “All I Need Is The Girl” and the show stopper that will send chills down your spine, “Everything’s Coming Up Roses.”  At 4pm we leave for THE NUT AND CANDY HOUSE in Wauconda, Illinois. What a great place to SHOP for your favorite treats – SNACKS like 8 kinds of Trail Mix, Popcorn and Pretzels; NUTS like almonds, cashews, pistachios and roasted peanuts; CHOCOLATES like milk, dark and white covered fruits, nuts and pretzels and CANDY like Boston Beans, licorice, fruit jellies and even sugar-free treats. At 6pm the BUS leaves with TREAT BAG & BOTTLED WATER (1 each/person) and RAFFLE PRIZES arriving in Milwaukee at 7:30pm. (Compare the cost of this trip with other trip providers.
